2-year-old boy missing from Mayes County found safe after massive search lasting 24 hours

Authorities have found missing 2-year-old Jesse Dale Young, of Mayes County, Salina, Oklahoma.

According to reports, Jesse had gone missing at around 11 a.m. on Wednesday. He was last seen on his family’s property – four miles north of Salina – wearing pull diapers and crocs.

However, Mayes County deputies and other law enforcement agencies finished searching for a 2-year-old boy Thursday afternoon when he was found alive near Salina at around 1 p.m.

As night fell on Wednesday, eight hours after the search began, authorities turned to the air in the hope of picking up a heat signature in the dark.

Two volunteers searching for Jesse on horseback found him safe and unharmed.

The boy’s uncle told FOX23 that Jesse was found about two miles away from his home.

Great news! A huge thanks to all the folks who volunteered to help in the search, and to the authorities who helped find him so fast.
