Bread which you can find in the market contains a lot of additives. The additives are very bad for the health because they are very toxic. But there is another solution to avoid these additives, and you can make your own bread at home. Here we have selected a several bread recipes, which do not have gluten and are much healthier. They can also be prepared with healthier alternatives like whole wheat flour and kombucha sourdough.

Recipes for homemade yeast bread

We advise you to put SAF-INSTANT yeast because it does not need proofing.

1.Basic Sourdough Bread


  • 3 1/3 cups of flour
  • 2 1/3 cups fresh sourdough starter
  • 1 ½ cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon of salt


Put all the dry ingredients and mix them together. After add the water. Knead it well to make it thin and it is god when you can see light go through it when you stretch it on your fingers. After that make a loaf and leave it to rise for about double the size. After that, make its shape again and put it in a pan. Put in the oven for ½ hour to 1 hour at 40 degrees.

2.French Bread Recipe


  • 3 ½ cups of flour
  • 1 tablespoon of bread machine yeast or Saf-instant yeast
  • 1 ¼ cup of warm water
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar


  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of water


First mix the salt, yeast and sugar and put them in warm water to dissolve. Then put the flour but not all at once, put a cup by cup until you notice that the dough is firm enough. Leave it to rise for about 20 minutes, knead it down and leave it to rise one more time until it doubles its size. After it rises, put it in a greased baking pan and leave to rise. 3.Basic Sandwich Bread


  • 4 cups of flour
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast or 1 ½ teaspoon instant yeast/bread machine yeast
  • 1 1/3 cups of water
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup of butter melted
  • 1 ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ cup of sugar


Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix them with a bread machine or mixer until it becomes homogenous. But if you want to do this by hand, leave the flour on side and first mix the other ingredients. Then add flour cup by cup and mix it well. When it becomes firm dough, mix it with hands for 5-10 minutes more.

After it is nicely mixed, cover it and leave it for about 20 minutes. During this time it will rise for about double the size. Then cut the dough in buns for as many as you want. Take a baking pan and first grease it and put a baking paper and then put the buns.Put in the oven at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes.

4.Potato Bread Recipe


  • 3 ½ cups of flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoon saf – instant yeast or 2 teaspoons dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 ½ tablespoons of sugar or honey
  • 2 tablespoons of butter softened
  • 1 cup of mashed potatoes


Mash the potatoes first. After, place all the ingredients in a mixer or kitchen machine and mix them for 6 minutes and add the flour gradually. If you want to mix it by hand, first mix all the ingredient without the flour, and after add the flour. This dough will not be very firm and it may be stickier. Leave it to rise for about 20 minutes, knead it and leave to rise once more. Put in oven for 40-45 minutes at 375 degrees F.
