Dozens Of Dancers Arrange In Huge Circle, But Watch Their Legs Move As Beat Starts To Change

Always a fan favorite at high school and collegiate dance team competitions, the high kick division combines dancing and precise kick maneuvers. Moving fan kicks, gradient kicks and contagions are just a few of the visually stunning choreography used in a kick routine.

The kick line must be strong and accurate. Toes pointed; legs straight; backs upright.

The girls usually are in excellent shape considering how strenuous competing in a high kick routine is. They’re usually full of smiles after a fabulous performance, but also out of breath.

Texas is known for its incredible kick routines coming out of both the high school and college teams. In Southlake, Texas, the Carroll High School Emerald Belles choreographed a stunning kick routine that left the audience cheering and screaming for them.

They performed this routine in a regional high school dance competition to the song “Sweet Dreams.” This slightly eerie remix set the team apart from the others.

But their choreography was impeccable. The routine begins with the dance team members at various levels and another elevated in a spinning star lift.

Then they segue into their kick line and the impressive routine shifts gears. Part of their moves include a very cool leg extension while still in the kick line.

Their contagions take the shapes of triangles and squares. This routine is incredibly visually stunning.

The very end of their routine is simply masterful with a prop you don’t expect. Watch the video below and prepare to be amazed by these young dancers.
