Family say 11-year-old girl shot in the head to be taken off life support today – rest in peace

The family of an 11-year-old girl shot in the head on Tuesday have announced that she will be removed from life support on Thursday.

According to reports, Anisa Scott was shot while in a car in Madison, Wisconsin. Family and friends gathered outside the American Family Children’s Hospital on Wednesday to break the news that her life support will be turned off.

Loren Gomez, Anisa’s grandmother, choked back tears as she said: “As a family decision, we want to let you all know we thank you for your love, your support, outpouring of blessings.”

“We need to end the gang violence,” she continued. “We lost a precious child because of it.”

As per sources, the shooting happened at around 11:45 a.m. on August 11. Two suspects in two vehicles began firing at one another as they drove down East Washington Avenue.

Police in Madison have not yet determined what the relationship was between Anisa and the driver of the vehicle she was in. Neither have any suspects in the shooting been identified thus far.

A fundraiser on Facebook has been set up for Anisa’s family, detailing how the friends of the victim’s family want to raise money to support them during this difficult time.
