We probably all remember the good times when we were visiting our grandparents’ house and we ate the homemade bread. No one can forget about that beautiful aroma. Homemade bread is something we all love. But not many want to prepare. It is certainly more nutritious and better than any bread we buy at the stores. It is an extremely enjoyable experience. But, as we said, many people think you need time to prepare homemade bread and they just don’t have it because of the busy lifestyle every day. That’s why in this article, we’ve decided to present you a very simple recipe that uses ingredients you can buy anywhere that will help you prepare wonderful homemade bread!



  • 1 package of yeast
  • ½ a tablespoon of salt
  • ½ a tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 3 cups of flour
  • ½ a tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1 glass of warm water
  • A bit of extra-virgin olive oil


First you have to mix the water with the flour and the yeast in a big bowl to prepare a homogenous mass. Leave it to rest for 15 minutes and you’ll see bubbles on the surface. Then, add the salt with the oil. Add 2 more cups of flour and knead everything for about 10 minutes. Leave this mixture to rest for 2 hours. The dough should double in size.

When you see it’s ready, cut it into 8 pieces and start kneading them into shape. Cover them using a filter paper and leave them to rest like that for 30 minutes. After half an hour, stretch the dough using a rolling pin and form 12 cm discs in diameter with 5 mm width. Heat a little bit of olive oil in a pan. Add the discs one by one. Fry them for about 2 minutes on each side. You can also put them in the oven if you would like them baked. Grease a baking pan with some oil and bake the discs for 10 minutes at 240 degrees.
