Mila Kunis Regrets Ashton Kutcher Selling Ticket To Space

Mila Kunis regrets telling Ashton Kutcher to sell his ticket to space.

Kutcher recently admitted how his wife talked him out of becoming one of the first scheduled travelers to go to space on a Virgin Galactic flight.

Richard Branson, Virgin Galactic founder, made a successful journey along with his crowd to suborbital space earlier this month.

Kutcher decided that despite all the fun involved, Kunis had a valid point about space.

“When I got married and had kids, my wife basically encouraged that it was not a smart family decision to be heading into space when we have young children,” he revealed to financial news network Cheddar News. “So I ended up selling my ticket back to Virgin Galactic.”

According to Branson’s Blog, Kutcher, 43, first bought his ticket for $200,000 back in 2012, according to a Reuters report. But at that time, Kutcher married Kunis in 2015 and had two children, so life looks very different now.

Kutcher is one of several celebrities who allegedly purchased tickets years ago to one day travel to space on a Virgin Galactic flight. Other (rumored) celebs include Leonardo DiCaprioJustin BieberKaty PerryLady GagaAngelina JolieTom Hanks, and Brad Pitt, according to USA Today.

The crew aboard Virgin Galactic’s Unity spaceship took off from the desert in New Mexico this past July 11 to reach suborbital space. This fulfilled a lifelong dream for Branson, who founded Virgin Galactic in 2004 to create a space tourism business.

Branson’s trip with his crew was followed by Jeff Bezos making his own successful all-civilian trip to suborbital space this past Tuesday in the ship designed by his Blue Origin company.

Virgin Galactic plans to begin commercial spaceflights with private customers in the next year with a cost of about $250,000 per person for a journey to space, but the final price has yet to be announced.

“I was supposed to be on the next flight, but I will not be on the next flight,” Kutcher said. “But at some point, I’m going to space.”

Mila now admits that in retrospect, she detests that she convinced Ashton to sell his ticket, revealing to People Magazine on Wednesday that it was the anxiety of being a new mom that overclouded her decision.

“The fact that I didn’t let him go into space was so selfish of me, but I was a new mom and I was like, ‘You can’t leave me and the babies,’” she revealed.

“I was all so hormonal and I was like, ‘You can’t, you’re going to die,’” she recalled telling her husband. “‘The thing’s going to explode and you’re going to die — and you’re going to leave me with the babies.’”
