Elizabeth Jasso, 31, informed friends and family she was expecting twins earlier this year shortly after losing her husband. But there was no pregnancy.
Family members now believe that the babies never existed at all but instead was a bizarre fantasy the woman played out.
Jasso was last seen the morning of August 5. Reportedly, Jasso left her in-law’s home in her white BMW. She had informed family members how she was going to visit her husband’s gravesite. But Jasso’s mother-in-law, Blanca Gonzalez, said she was never seen or heard from again.
“To me it was like a novella. A Lifetime movie,” Jasso’s cousin-in-law, Victoria Cruz-Ramirez, told the news outlet.
Desperate to find her daughter-in-law and future grandchildren, Gonzalez went to the Baytown Police Department and filed a missing person’s report.
But then, Jasso’s father and sister decided to inform the in-laws the bombshell: Jasso was never pregnant. Her family members revealed that Jasso not only faked the pregnancy news but also purchased forged ultrasounds online before claiming them to be her own.

“The sister and the father said that, ‘You know she wasn’t pregnant,’” Cruz-Ramirez told ABC 13. “They figured that she was faking the pregnancy. She couldn’t even have kids.”
All at once, circumstances around Elizabeth’s disappearance began to muddy — as her family members revealed that the date of her disappearance coincided with the day she claimed to be getting induced…
“I am completely at a loss of words with what I have discovered,” Gonzalez wrote in a Facebook post, which has since been made private, according to Crime Online. “Me and my family and friends have been deceived by my daughter-in-law [.] This is my daughter in law she has faked her pregnancy with fake ultrasound photos and we had no clue at all.”

According to reports, Jasso even faked maternity photos and attended a baby shower in her honor, which was thrown by friends and family.
Jasso’s husband was reportedly shot and killed back in February, during Baytown’s winter storm. Milko Jasso, 29, is believed to have started a physical confrontation with a 20-year-old woman and her 36-year-old boyfriend at their home in Baytown sometime around 4:40 a.m. February 17, according to a police investigation. He died after being shot at least once.
“I just feel that whenever she sees this, I hope you’re alright,” Cruz-Ramirez said. “I hope you’re okay, by all means. But that you get evaluated somehow. That her family evaluates her with everything that she’s going through. Whatever she’s dealing with.”
