Zach and Tori Roloff Reveal if Their Newborn Has Dwarfism, ‘He’s Just Like Me. Just Like Daddy’

Tori wrote that their son weighed nine pounds, one ounce and measured 20.5 inches long at birth.

She wrote the following day that her heart was full:

My heart is so unbearably full. I’ve only spent four days with this little guy and I have fallen in love completely with him. This is what I was meant to do. Mommy loves you, Jackson.

And while the Roloffs acknowledged that mom and baby were doing just fine, they didn’t disclose whether Jackson was born with achondroplasia like Zach.

Before their son was born, ultrasounds showed that his limbs were measuring below average and that his head was measuring above average — symptoms of achondroplasia dwarfism, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Tori and Zach knew that there would be a 50/50 chance their son would be born with dwarfism.

According to TLC, the new parents revealed on their blog that Jackson was born with achondroplasia.

Zach said with a smile on his face:

“Baby Jackson, he came in as an LP. He’s an achon, so he’s just like me. Just like Daddy. We’re super excited for it. We’ll hope to just give him a healthy, happy life and support him in every way. Hopefully he can experience as much of the world as Tori and me have been able to and hopefully much more.

He may have to take two steps for everyone else’s one step, but hopefully we’ll be able to raise him in a way where that won’t stop him.”

Tori jumped in and said:

“He seems like a pretty stubborn kid already, so I think he’s got it under control.”

The pair also revealed that they choose the name Jackson because it was the only name they agreed on.

They added that they are “super stoked” to be parents and that they are so thankful for all the kind messages and gifts they have received since welcoming Jackson into the world.
